RACE RECEIVERS:

1.

All drivers are required to have an operating “RACECeiver” in proper working condition, channeled to the track’s frequency, with fresh batteries.

2.

MANDATORY for every division.  You must have one.  Every car will be routinely checked for one.  Make sure you have batteries.

CAR AND BODY:

1.

No trucks. 

2.

Must have stock body parts, panels or stock appearing body parts and bumpers. 

3.

Hood must be kept in place at all times. 

4.

Body sheet metal must be kept in place at all times. 

5.

No mirrors. 

6.

Floorboard in driver's side compartment. 

7.

Firewall, front and rear, must have holes patched. 

8.

ALL GLASS - headlights, taillights, etc., must be removed. 

9.

Door welded.

10.

Full front and rear bumper covers, front and back must be stock appearing; metal bumpers outside of body must be stock. 

11.

No pipe bumpers. 

12.

Front and rear bumpers must be tied at both ends to frame by chain or cable to prevent losing.  This is highly recommended.

13.

5-inch spoiler. 

14.

Rear deck lid must be frame rail to frame rail and deck lid to frame rail.  Must be fully secure.  Rear deck height is maximum 40 inches.

15.

No Late Model noses.  No MD3.  Rear end must be closed in.

WINDSHIELD:  Screen by be used in windshield area but drivers must wear a full-face shield helmet.

FRAME:

1.

Stock wheelbase allowed – minimum of 106-inches. 

2.

If car was manufactured without full frame, front and rear frame sections must be tied together with 2x4-inch frame box.  No clip cars. 

3.

Square tubing is permitted in rear of frame for fuel cell mounting. 

4.

Wheelbase must match right and left side.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

5.

Rear clip must be OEM frame rails.

WEIGHT:

1.

Non-Crate Engine Cars:  MINIMUM 3000 LB. WITH DRIVER AFTER RACE;                                               Crate Engine Cars:  MINIMUM 2900 LB. WITH DRIVER

AFTER RACE.   (NO EXCEPTIONS).     

2.

SAFETY FACTOR:  NO ADDED WEIGHT ABOVE DRIVER SHOULDERS.

3.

WEIGHT MUST BE BEHIND FRONT AXLE AND NO FURTHER BACK THAN FUEL CELL AND SECURELY FASTENED TO FRAME WITH A ½-INCH BOLT OR

LARGER OR ALL THREAD.

GAS TANKS:

1.

Gas tank may be moved into truck area of car.  Must have fuel cell. 

2.

Fuel tank MUST BE SECURELY FASTENED and must be welded and sealed at top, bottom, and sides. 

3.

No 5-gallon containers or converted grease or oil containers may be used as tanks. 

4.

Fuel lines run under floor, if not, must be covered and sealed at both ends by rubber hose only. 

5.

A full metal firewall must be installed between driver and engine, and between fuel tank and driver. The driver’s compartment MUST be completely enclosed. 

6.

Fuel cells must be mounted behind the rear end housing between frame rails as is the normal position from the builder and it MUST be Securely Strapped with a

minimum of two (2) Steel Straps that are bolted to the Chassis (Frame).  Securely locking in the fuel cell.  Straps MUST be at least two (2) inches wide and 1/8 inch

thick.  Fuel Cell must be mounted inside the Fuel Cell Steel Box.  No Part of the Fuel Cell can be below the bottom of the rear housing.

7.

NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED - GAS ONLY.  NO FUEL INJECTED CARS PERMITTED. 

ROLL CAGE:

1.

Should be of 2-inch black pipe or 1-1/2 seamless tubing or larger. 

2.

Roll cage is 4-post design with "X" bracing behind seat with 3 bars on both side doors fastened to frame and gusted. 

3.

No square tubing.

MUFFLERS:

1.

Optional but highly recommended with exhaust pipes bump to outside behind driver on either side of car with no turn down.

2.

No cutouts. 

3.

Steel headers.

SUSPENSION:

1.

No modifying of the suspension is allowed. 

2.

Steel shocks ONLY. 

3.

No adjustable shocks. 

4.

No double shocking. 

5.

Weight jacks that can be adjusted from driver's seat inside car are strictly prohibited! 

6.

Tubular upper 'A' frame allowed.  Cannot be adjusted.

7.

Right and left wheel base must match. 

8.

Rear - after market control arms is allowed.  Keep same length from side to side.

9.

Mounts must be in stock location.  Maximum 5 adjustment holes allowed.  Vertical hole allowed.  May be within 5 inches of stock hole.

10.

No 3 link suspension.

11.

No spring loaded trailing arms.  No tork arms.  No rubber snubbers or bisquit bars.

12.

All bushings to be factory style or helm joint and size.  No over sized or modified bushings.

13.

All spring perches must be mounted on top of rear-end NOT in front or behind rear-end.

14.

All trailing arms mounting brackets must be mounted directly on top and directly under rear-end NOT in front or behind rear-end.

TRANSMISSION AND REAR END:

1.

Automatic, 3-speed, 4-speed transmission allowed.

2.

Berts, Brims, and Falcons are allowed.

3.

NO QUICK CHANGE ALLOWED. 

4.

Rear end floaters allowed.

TIRES:  Latemodel tires no larger than 14-inches from sidewall to sidewall.

WHEELS:

1.

Steel wheels reinforced with plating, washer, or double nuts to prevent their loss during the race. 

2.

Bead locks allowed on all four corners. 

3.

NO SCREWS IN RIM.

4.

No wide five; 10-inch wheel max.

ENGINES:

1.

Engine size:  No larger than 412.

2.

Must be stock appearing. 

3.

Headers permitted. 

4.

One carburetor any type. 

5.

Heads & Block must be cast iron. 

6.

Intake manifolds - any single 2-barrell or 4-barrell stock or aluminum dual feed. 

7.

NO DRY SUMPS! 

8.

Engine in stock location or #1 spark plug in line with center of ball joint.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

BATTERIES: 

1.

Batteries must be in trunk area properly contained to avoid leakage in the event of damage, no further back than fuel cell and securely fastened to the frame.

2.

Batteries are not allowed in the Driver’s Compartment.

DRIVE SHAFT: 

1.

MANDATORY:  Cars must have safety strap in front of drive shaft. 

2.

Drive shaft to be of steel only and must be painted white for visibility.

RADIATORS:

1.

A brace to protect radiator may be installed no larger than 1-1/2-inch OD tubing or rectangular tubing. 

2.

CANNOT BE WIDER THAN FRAME.

TRACTION CONTROL:  No traction control of any kind permitted.

SAFETY:

1.

All seat belts must be in good shape.  They will be checked.

2.

Seat belts must be bolted to frame (not to floor) and pass inspector's approval. 

3.

Shoulder harness is required. 

4.

Only seat belt with quick release mechanism allowed. 

5.

An aluminum full containment seat should be secured (bolted) to frame (not to floor) and roll cage high and low. 

6.

Hans Device, Hutchens and/or similar safety restraint system is suggested.

7.

MANDATORY:  A quick release steering wheel.

8.

MANDATORY:  FULL FIRESUITS:  Any fire retardant coveralls or any fire retardant fire suit of one or two piece ARE REQUIRED.  YOU MUST WEAR ONE OR YOU

WILL NOT RACE!  This is for your safety

9.

Racing gloves and shoes are suggested – NO Plastic Gloves. 

10.

Only racing type helmet with full-race shield should be worn.  Helmets that have fire resistant interior – Snell 2005 and up are recommended.

11.

Should have fire extinguisher within driver's reach.

NUMBERS:

1.

Numbers can be of 3 digits and one letter. 

2.

No duplicate numbers allowed. 

3.

No fractions allowed. 

4.

Must be at least 18-inches high and 2-inches wide. 

5.

Cars should have 4x4-inch number on the windshield screen and on bumper/rear of car.

6.

All numbers must be painted on both sides of the car and on the roof.  All numbers must be visible and legible - contrasting to color of car.  This means don't

put a white number on a silver car. 

7.

When a car is registered in the pits, that car can only run that number.  If a car comes with a number already registered, that car will be asked to add a letter.

MISCELLANEOUS:

1.

If you have questions about your car qualifying for these rules, any driver or pit crew member has till 7:00pm to ask tech inspector to check their car.

2.

The track officials have the authority to inspect any portion of a car subject to rule specifications for that division.

3.

Any and all decisions of the Tech committee as to a car being legal or illegal are final.

4.

ALL DRIVERS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST HAVE SIGNED WAVER BY PARENT OR GUARDIAN, NOTARIZED.

5.

ALL RULES ARE AT THE DISCRETION OF MARION CENTER SPEEDWAY OFFICIALS AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO AMEND, ADJUST, CHANGE, OR DELETE

THE RULES WITHOUT NOTICE.

6.

REFER TO THE GENERAL RULES FOR ALL OTHER RULES.

7.

ON THE FIRST NIGHT OF POINTS ALL RULES WILL APPLY!  NO OPEN COMPETITION.

The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for

events.  The rules shall govern the conduct of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules.  No

expressed or implied warranty to safety shall result for publication or compliance with these rules and/or regulations.  They are intended as a guide for the conduct

of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury to the participant, spectator, or official.  The race director shall be empowered to permit deviation from any

of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements.  No expressed or implied

warranty of safety shall result from such alteration of specification.  Any interpretation of these rules is left to the discrepancies of the officials.  Their decisions are

final.

Anyone causing disturbance at the track such as fighting, blocking the track, etc., will be subject to 1 or 2 week suspension or a fine of $300.00 or both.  They will

also be responsible for all physical or property damage from such disturbance to him or others.  A fine of $300.00 levied and paid before person(s) will be allowed

on MARION CENTER SPEEDWAY premises.  Fine payment will be added to the point fund.  The track officials will govern disturbance on a case-by-case basis.

No dogs will be permitted into the pits unless they are service animals only. 

2018 Rules Pro-Stocks

The following specifications have been prepared by Marion Center

Speedway as guidelines for the construction of a Pro-Stock.  No warranty of

safety is expressed or implied as a result of this publication of rules.  These

are intended as a guideline and are in no way a guarantee against injury or

death to participants, spectators, or officials.  Anything not covered by these

specifications should be approved by the track officials and placed in

writing.  Continuous developments in auto racing and technology may

mandate changes in these rules.  However, it is our intent to enforce and police these rules throughout

the season.

We strive to keep the competition equal and fair for all competitors.  To accomplish this, IF IT

questions, please contact track officials before you are found illegal for competition.

2018 Rules Pro-Stocks

The following

specifications have been

prepared by Marion

Center Speedway as

guidelines for the

construction of a Pro-Stock.  No warranty of

safety is expressed or implied as a result of

this publication of rules.  These are intended
